Quarterly published in print and online "Inventi Rapid: Telecom" publishes high quality unpublished as well as high impact pre-published research and reviews catering to the needs of researchers and professionals. This multidisciplinary journal deals with all the aspects related to telecommunication systems. The journal welcomes articles dealing with performance evaluation of wide area and local networks; network interconnection; wire, wireless, adhoc, mobile networks; fiberoptics and photonic switching; dynamics and capacity expansion of telecommunication systems; pricing for networking and telecommunication services; configuring telecommunication systems with reliability and availability; standardization and regulatory issues; security, privacy and encryption in telecommunication systems; cellular, mobile and satellite based systems.
We describe the design, fabrication and bench-study of mm-wave quasi optical phase shifter by using grounded Frequency Selective Surface (FSS) on Roger 4003C substrate. This paper provides the basis for an understanding of FSS-based free space phase delay realization by using a FSS array composed of two sub-arrays of different slot lengths. The simulation and measurement results at W-band demonstrate that the phase delay between arrays can be controlled by the difference of slot lengths of the two sub-arrays. The measured S-parameters of the sub-arrays at different positions on the array surface demonstrate the phase mixing properties of FSS sub-arrays. We measured 180˚ phase delay between two sub-arrays with slot length of 896 µm and 1076 µm with slot width of 400 µm at 91.61 GHz....
The problem of the ground-borne vibrations caused by high speed trains has received considerable attention in recent years, due to the effects it can have on buildings, in terms of physical damage, the population, in terms of disconfort. The problem has become more significant with the increase of speed and weight of trains, which results with heavier loads on the tracks. In order to predict the response at a side line location or on the foundations of a building, a model for the wave propagation through the ground must be implemented. The transmission of ground vibration from a moving train to the surroundings is a complex problem depending on a great number of factors. In the paper, after a review of principles of vibration theory, we analyse and simulate this problem through a finite element model considering the eventual presence in the ground of a discontinuity factor (trench and/or barrier)....
Cognitive Radio (CR) for dynamic spectrum access enables opportunistic use of the radio-frequency (RF) spectrum, allowing unlicensed users to utilize licensed bands under the condition that they interfere as little as possible with the licensees. In this paper a survey on performance of cognitive radio is made. The performance parameters includes synchronization issues like frequency & timing error, phase noise, IQ-imbalance and hidden terminal problem. These errors occures due to either non-ideal analog components, movement of the transceiver or imperfect synchronization. Methods to overcome these problems are discussed....
